What you see in your eyes is the myth of endless profits across the crypto market; what I see on the chart is a long, tightly packed list of liquidation records. $ETH
In this world, it’s only one thing—letting your hands get out of control—that separates making money from going to zero completely.
I’ve seen countless players: they make a small profit on two trades and start getting cocky, losing their bearings; when they lose, they get impulsive and add more to stubbornly hold on; and finally, they sink their biggest position into the last trade—straight up wiping the account to zero.
It’s not that the market is deliberately targeting you. It’s that from start to finish, you never set any trading rules for yourself.
When I started with a small capital of 2600U, and grew it step by step to what it is now, it all came down to one thing: I strictly stuck to the rules I set.
These rules don’t look complicated at all, but in volatile markets, they can literally save your life:
If your direction is wrong, leave immediately—don’t delay by even half a tick on your stop-loss. Hold on one second longer, and your loss could instantly multiply by ten.
Get two trades wrong in a row and shut the software down and stop—when you’re emotionally overheated, if you open ten positions, nine times out of ten they’re wrong.
Don’t get carried away by floating profits. The numbers in your account are virtual; only when real money lands in your pocket do you truly profit.
Without a clearly defined major trend, don’t trade. In a range-bound market, nothing is better at repeatedly harvesting heavily positioned traders.
At any time, don’t go all-in to gamble. Keep positions light and leave enough room—if you can stay alive, you’ll have the chance to catch the next big move.
Many people aren’t actually incapable of making money—they just lose it too carelessly, and they can’t even hold onto the most basic bottom line.
Futures are never a one-click tool to turn things around. It’s a sieve: whatever trading habits you build day to day, it will ultimately filter out the corresponding outcome.
If you’re still repeatedly getting liquidated and starting over again and again, don’t rush to throw money in to try to get it back. First, set your own trading rules.
