#dusk $DUSK I went through the public information on the Dusk mainnet launch again, and the easiest thing to overlook isn’t the technical architecture—it’s the time gap on the roadmap between the “coming soon” items and the real on-chain economic activity. The mainnet did go live in early 2025. The official team then put four modules—Hyperstaking, Zedger, Lightspeed, and Dusk Pay—on the schedule. But between publishing the roadmap and having institutions actually adopt it, there’s an entire tunnel that needs to be walked through on its own.
First, what does the mainnet launch itself mean? It marks Dusk moving from an ERC-20-based concept to a truly independently operating Layer-1, where nodes can be deployed, staking can be activated, and native tokens can circulate. But there are two ledgers: the chain’s infrastructure and the chain’s on-chain economic activity. The tracks being laid doesn’t mean trains are already running on them.
Next, consider the RWA asset tokenization narrative. Dusk’s core pitch is to let institutions issue and settle tokenized securities on-chain while protecting transaction privacy and also meeting compliance requirements. Europe’s MiCA framework is indeed paving the way for compliant tokenization. However, when institutions come in, they don’t read the whitepaper—they look at custody integration, audit reports, legal opinions, and whether at least one full settlement cycle can run without problems.
There’s a set of data worth tracking closely: the number of active addresses on-chain, the proportion of non-staking transactions, and whether third parties independently deploy dApps rather than just using official demo projects. If on-chain activity is mainly concentrated in staking and reward claiming, then the “regulated assets” narrative doesn’t form a closed loop. I’m observing the mainnet phase of @Dusk , because each of the four modules, taken individually, is a major engineering effort. Launching the mainnet isn’t the finish line—it’s the starting gun. After the gun goes off, whether it can actually run depends on the legs, not the ears.
