Bitcoin receives death threats from Europe and the US
Bitcoin, which celebrated the 15th anniversary of its genesis block on January 3, is receiving death threats from the US and European governments. The siege of both regions of the world seems to have a clear objective: to weaken the cryptocurrency, control its operation and veto any activity related to it.
The latest Bitcoin-killing idea comes from the United States Energy Information Administration (EIA), which proposes the creation of a census of bitcoin miners.
The initiative of the EIA, an organization controlled by Democrats, forces American miners to reveal all data on their operations in the country. Joe DeCarolis, administrator of the EIA, indicated that the intention is to continue analyzing and writing about the energy implications of cryptocurrency mining activities in the United States.
Cryptocurrencies are unstoppable
New attempts by the United States and Europe to control Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are the latest dangers facing the sector.
15 years have passed since the appearance of Bitcoin and politicians refuse to understand that the reality of cryptocurrencies is unstoppable. Even with bans like those in China, where police repression has always been very harsh, the ban on cryptocurrencies has never been effective. India is another example that banning cryptocurrencies is plowing in the sea.
They can ban them, but as long as the network works and citizens have the means to use it, they will use it.
However, threats to the cryptocurrency sector do not only come from governments. There are companies that advocate for the privatization of cryptocurrencies. The expansion of MEVs and private mempools, among other proprietary technologies, are beginning to gain ground in the sector.
