According to a report by Yonhap News Agency, as of the end of July 2026, five major cryptocurrency exchanges in South Korea have registered a total of 6,590 corporate accounts, of which Bithumb leads with 3,280 and Upbit follows with 2,086; the two together account for 81.4%. There were 711 corporate accounts that completed customer identity verification (KYC), representing 10.8%, while among general corporate accounts, only 29 were active in actually trading, staking, or making deposits and withdrawals during the month. In total, these corporate entities hold approximately KRW 43.38 billion in cryptocurrency assets, of which 62.4% are held through Upbit. South Korean regulatory authorities are working on phased implementation to allow corporate users to invest in cryptocurrency assets and conduct financial management transactions using KRW.
