Anthropic, the maker of Claude AI models and a chief rival to OpenAI, could seek to raise more than US$100 billion in an initial public offering that may value the company at US$2 trillion, according to RTHK reported.
US media reports said the artificial intelligence start-up expects to match or beat the size of SpaceX's blockbuster listing, which raised US$85.7 billion in June and valued Elon Musk's space company at US$1.77 trillion. The New York Times, citing two unnamed sources with knowledge of the talks, said Anthropic's bankers have told potential investors the company could unveil its prospectus in the coming weeks, with shares possibly listed in the autumn.
The report said the proposed valuation would more than double Anthropic's previous US$965 billion valuation from its last funding round in June. Anthropic declined AFP's request for comment.
