Construction has begun in the Swiss Alps on a network of ultra-secure underground bunkers. The facilities are intended to store the assets of the planet’s richest people in the event of any disasters.
The cost of renting one storage compartment for 99 years will reach €1 million, RBC reports.
The project is backed by Brunig Mega Safe AG.
The underground storage sites are being built at a depth of more than 100 meters in the Brünig massif. According to company representatives, the rough work in the high-security zone has already been fully completed, and the first finished bunkers are planned to be delivered in 2028.
Interestingly, the first contracts with customers have already been signed, and the rental rights are being recorded in the land registry, which legally brings these facilities closer to real estate.
Security levels in the Alps are promised to be comparable to those of the Swiss National Bank’s vaults, with multi-layer access control. Billionaires will be able to hide anything underground except explosives and drugs.
