What Is Dharma Joy?
The life that is inherently complete has only one reasonable direction: giving. If you just want to get something, these two energies will inevitably clash; once they clash, you will definitely give rise to afflictions. So all afflictions come from wanting to obtain, and from a sense of scarcity. Within this logic, giving is the first need of life. This is what we mean by serving the people wholeheartedly. “Wholeheartedly” means giving unconditionally. If your giving has conditions, you won’t be able to experience the joy brought by unconditional giving. And that giving, right then, is connected to your inherently complete inner wisdom and inner energy. This attunement and resonance connection will make us, in the moment, feel something called Dharma joy.
