$BTC The breath hasn’t even finished leaving—I’m leaning long on this side.
This morning in the elevator, I pulled up that weekly report. It said the shorts and the Ether futures cash-and-carry got hammered this week, and in passing it also mentioned that $X wanted to use stablecoins to pay creators.
I watched this $BTC daily chart for ten minutes. The price was still hovering around 77023, basically unmoved over 24 hours—down only 0.067%.
But during the session, it probed up to 78828 at the high and even stepped on the low around 76500.
This kind of movement is the most annoying. It looks directionless, but inside it’s already been hammered through a round.
Volume also says a lot.
Spot over the last 24 hours is 1.96 billion USD, while the futures are 15.14 billion USD—about 7.7x.
They say it’s ranging, but their hands are all fighting each other with contracts.
The funding rate is only +0.01%, not hot. Open positions are still sitting with 106532 units of $BTC pressing down.
It’s like the car is full of people, but nobody has squeezed hard enough to deform the door yet.
I’m bullish—not saying it can just surge straight up from here.
This wave is more like first clearing out the shorts; the price hasn’t fully played out the emotional side yet.
If the funding rate suddenly spikes really high, but the price can’t get back above 78800, then I’d actually hesitate.
I’ve personally suffered from this kind of thing.
Last time too—I saw the squeeze, got hot-headed, chased in, and at night I got knocked out by a single pullback wick. And my wife was beside me asking, didn’t I say I only look at spot?
As for Musk’s side wanting to set up stablecoin payments for creators, short-term that news may not immediately turn into buy orders.
But it pushes the idea that “on-chain settlement is a serious business” one step forward.
If it were me, I’d keep holding spot, not rushing to dump my position right here.
If you want to go short, that’s fine too—go ahead and tell me: after this round of 7.7x contract volume gets played out, how many short tokens are left? $BTC
