I’ve been looking at Dusk from a slightly different angle lately, and the interesting part isn’t simply that it brings privacy to financial markets.
What stands out is the reconciliation problem.
In regulated finance, the same asset can pass through issuance, trading, compliance checks, settlement, reporting and corporate actions. The hard part is keeping those stages consistent when different parties need different information. Full transparency can expose sensitive data; complete privacy can make verification difficult.
That is where Dusk’s architecture becomes more interesting to me. Its approach to confidential transactions and selective access could potentially act as a coordination layer between institutions that need to verify the same financial state without exposing everything to everyone.
My simple takeaway: privacy becomes much more valuable when it reduces operational friction, not just when it hides information.
The open question is whether this architecture can achieve meaningful adoption across real institutional workflows, where interoperability, regulation and integration costs can matter more than technical elegance.
