Many people hear the words “high leverage” and get intimidated, thinking it’s a gamble with your life. In fact, leverage itself isn’t scary—the real danger is how much position size you commit. With 100x leverage, I only put in 1% of my principal; the actual risk is even smaller than a 5x leverage half-position. Don’t get fooled by the multiples—what matters is how heavily you’re committing.
For every trade, my maximum loss is strictly capped at 2% of total funds. Once it hits that line, I exit without any conditions—no waiting, no holding on, and no wishful thinking. Before entering, I calculate it clearly: multiply the principal by 2%, then divide by the stop-loss distance, then divide again by the leverage multiple. That gives the maximum position size I can open for that trade. If the calculation says X, then it’s exactly X—no extra.
Take-profit in batches: when it reaches the first target, close a batch; if it rises further, close again; let the remaining portion trail with the moving average. This locks in profits without missing the bigger trend.
Also, I use a very small portion of the principal to buy some put options purely as insurance. If an extreme market happens, at least the account won’t be wiped out completely.
Single-trade max loss: 2%. Profit target: 20%. A 10-to-1 risk/reward ratio. Even if the win rate is only 30%, over the long run it still comes out as positive expected value.
The essence of trading is never to guess which direction the market will go—it’s to “weld” losses into a controllable range so that compounding can move forward slowly on its own.
