#dusk $DUSK @Dusk Tried pricing out the full cost stack of actually participating in Dusk beyond any single fee viewed in isolation.
Gas first DUSK specifically bundled into every Transfer contract call. Staking if you're a provisioner 1,000 DUSK minimum locked through an epoch's maturity with soft slashing risk for simple unavailability and hard slashing for anything worse. Eligibility checks if you're touching regulated assets computational overhead baked into every Zedger based transfer structurally required.
None of these costs are large in isolation. Stacked together for someone actually staking AND holding regulated assets AND transacting regularly the total looks meaningfully different than any single fee line item suggests.
Whether that stacked total is expensive relative to what a comparable centralized or hybrid system would cost isn't something I can price out from documentation alone. What I can say gas is cheap and total cost of genuine participation are two different claims and most explanations only ever address the first one.
