NEAR is now hovering around 1.92u. There’s something interesting about this spot today: first it pushed up to around 2.14, then a single one-hour candle shot straight down from 2.13 to 1.73. The contract wick even dipped to 1.58. After getting hammered, it rebounded back to around 2.0. Now it has pulled back to 1.92. Overall, the whole day is still a net gain.

First, let’s talk about where the money is. In this sell-off, the spot large orders didn’t exit—instead, they’re absorbing. Over nearly 3 hours, there was net inflow of over 30 million USD, and all 12 candlesticks were bullish. Whale accounts have long positions making up more than 80%. During these 7 hours, they’re still adding. In plain terms, this pullback has real money propping it up; it’s not just talk.

Sentiment is also on the long side. The narrative around NEAR Intents integration with the Ledger wallet and the AI ecosystem is heating up; social media discussion is overwhelmingly bullish. There are catalysts, and there’s also follow-through/absorption—this is the foundation of the current rebound.

But the risks are all visible. After the derivatives open interest climbed to a high level, it has been decreasing over the last 7 hours. At the same time, leverage and borrowing surged in the short term, and long positions are crowded. RSI and MFI are both sitting right at overbought territory, volatility is directly spiking, and ADX suggests the trend isn’t that strong. Right now, price is being capped just below the 15-minute moving averages at 1.96 and 2.0, and the 1-hour direction is still downward.

So my stance: slightly bullish, but I won’t chase here. If it retraces to around 1.9, volume doesn’t drop, and large orders are still absorbing, then I’d feel comfortable adding. Chasing directly above 2.0 is basically helping lift the trapped long position from that big bearish candle ahead of it—risk/reward isn’t great.

The key is whether the market can stay flat and then large orders keep showing up. As long as the large orders remain, pullbacks are opportunities. If the large orders withdraw, then this rebound is likely over.
