Dusk: A paper boom of €300 million, or a giant just waking up?

Where has the bull market run to? BTC is way too solid!

When it comes to @DuskFoundation, I guess many people’s first reaction is pretty much the same as mine was before: the partner list really looks impressive—NPEX, Chainlink, Quantoz—pick any one of them and you’ve got a seasoned veteran. Even the numbers on the official website look gorgeous: a €300 million token issuance, 50,000+ investors, and 210 million DUSK staked. But the more beautiful the numbers look, the more I feel something is off.

Don’t rush to call me a hater—let’s talk about something concrete.

First, that NPEX collaboration—haven’t they been hyping it for more than two years? As of today, on the Dusk Trade official site, it’s still boldly labeled as “Building.” These two—EVM and Hedger—keep spinning around the testnets. In February they said “go live in June,” and June has come and gone, now it’s “coming soon.” You tell me— is this real execution, or something staged for show? It’s like you’ve been bragging for two years that you’ll open a restaurant, buying a whole set of kitchenware, yet there’s always a “coming soon” sign hanging by the door.

Then there’s an even more painful one—liquidity. Even Dusk’s own team has admitted that tokenization doesn’t automatically create trading order books or market depth. That’s a straightforward statement, but it also basically pulls down the curtain. No matter how strong the tech is or how good the compliance story is, without real trading users, having assets on-chain is just a prop. If you search for Dusk on DeFiLlama, the TVL column is completely empty—like it’s been licked clean.

At this point, though, I actually feel Dusk isn’t as bleak as it seems. Why? Because their ace cards are still in hand. Privacy contracts with XSC, Hedger’s confidential EVM workflows—these aren’t empty window dressing. They’re real compliance tools meant for institutions, not toys for crypto players.

So for now I’m watching Dusk with three numbers: exactly how much asset has been issued, how many real trading users there are, and what the secondary-market liquidity data looks like. If those three can’t be realized for a long time, then the institutional narrative really will become a paper story. If they can truly make it run, this project might actually go from “coming soon” to “live.” #dusk $DUSK @Dusk
