OpenDusk voting mechanics :-

OpenDusk’s first on-chain vote decides whether to create the initiative and redirect unminted block rewards into a community treasury.

Eligibility (checked at a pre-announced snapshot block):

-Must hold an active provisioner stake (securing the network).

-Must have performed a stake operation (stake/unstake/withdraw) in the prior 3 months.

This filters for committed, engaged stakers rather than dormant or short-term holders.

Voting power: Proportional to the size of the active stake.

Passage rules:

-Quorum: at least 30% of eligible stake must participate.

-Approval: simple majority (>50%) of the participating stake votes yes.

The vote runs on a purpose-built on-chain platform. If it passes, a 5-member elected committee will later recommend proposals, but major spending and key decisions still require the same stake-weighted community vote.

Design goal: align voting power with long-term network commitment instead of pure speculation $DUSK
