Bitcoin’s 24-hour high touched $79,923, the low was $62,859, and the current price is $77,072, up 7.66%. This surge blew up the shorts badly—over the past 24 hours, the entire network liquidated $1.57 billion, with 79.8% being short positions and 70.7% of shorts by the 12-hour timeframe. In the past 4 hours, the picture has changed: within liquidations, 73.4% has shifted to longs. By the 1-hour timeframe it’s also close to a 50/50 split. As the peak pulled back, the long buyers who chased the price have started to repay.

At the same time, the ETFs didn’t track the market’s sentiment swings. Bitcoin spot ETFs saw a net inflow of $606 million on the latest trading day, and $1.36 billion over the past 7 days; Ethereum ETFs had a same-day inflow of $221 million. Across 35 crypto ETFs, total assets reached $104.8 billion. Managed by 13 issuers, institutional buying hasn’t stopped.

However, the Fear and Greed Index is only 72—greedful but not extreme. The altcoin season index is 56. In the past 90 days, only 28 coins have outperformed Bitcoin. This market move is mainly driven by Bitcoin and Ethereum, while the alts haven’t caught up.
