Was deep in the DUSK transaction lifecycle task today... traced it from intent to what the docs call "verified and final settlement," expecting a clean finish line. Instead I landed on Dusk's Aug 15 piece on SME tokenization — $DUSK , #dusk , @Dusk — and the finish line kept moving.

Here's the snag. Their own six-stage ownership lifecycle groups "transfer" and "settlement" into one node, but the fine print says delivery links to payment "where supported," and for a Dutch BV, share transfers still need a notarial deed. So the chain finalizes a tx in seconds... but "settled" in the legal sense waits on a notary. Two different clocks, same word.

Grabbed coffee mid-read and had to double back — I'd assumed final settlement meant one deterministic event. It doesn't. The on-chain leg finishes while the off-chain leg — notarial action, venue authorization under the DLT Pilot Regime — still queues behind institutions like NPEX. Kind of flips the usual pitch. The instant part is the easy part, the default. The advanced thing everyone's actually waiting on is regulated venues and legal process catching up to the ledger, not the other way round.

Hmm… makes me wonder how many "settled" txs on similar RWA chains are technically final but legally still in limbo.
