day nine, and todays subject is the gap nobody in crypto talks about becuase its embarrassing.... distribution. who actually SELLS infrastructure to institutions? ๐
heres the uncomfortable structure. dusks buyers are procurement departments, compliance officers, boards. those buyers purchase through a ritual crypto never learned.... rfps, vendor assessments, reference calls, multi-year contracts, a human being who answers the phone and owns the relationship. enterprise sales, the profession. oracle employs thousands of these people.
now look at how protocols traditionaly "sell".... docs, discord, grants, and the hope that builders arrive. that motion works for permissionless defi, developers self-serve, adoption is bottom-up. it does NOT work for regulated venues, becuase an mtf cannot self-serve its way into settlement infrastructure.... somone must walk thier compliance committee through two hundred questions, and that somone must exist, be employed, and stay employed for the years the sale takes.
wich makes the real question of dusks institutional era organizational, not technical. does the entity behind the protocol run an actual enterprise sales and solutions function.... integration engineers, compliance liaisons, the unglamorous headcount that converts partnership announcements into live volume? the npex and 21x relationships suggest somone is doing this work. the depth of that bench decides the pace of everything ive been calling the questionnaire.
the structural tension worth naming, decentralized protocol, centralized sales motion. every institutional chain lives this contradiction.... the network is permissionless but the ADOPTION runs through a company with a pipeline and a payroll. token holders are, in effect, financing a b2b sales operation they cannot see, whose crm is the actual leading indicator of the chart.
my watch-item evolved accordingly. count job postings, not just partnerships. solutions-engineer hires in amsterdam tell you more then announcements do. day ten continues.
