theyre two separate privacy protocols doing the same job in different places. Zedger runs on DuskVM on the Dusk L1. Hedger runs on DuskEVM
and the reason theres two isnt branding, its that the underlying models dont match. Zedger was built for UTXO based layers. Hedger was built for full EVM compatibility so it plugs into standard ethereum tooling from day one
heres the tradeoff Dusk state openly and I wish more projects did. the EVM account model prevents full anonymity, which Zedger still offers. Hedger delivers complete transactional privacy but not anonymity
so you dont get both. you pick the stronger privacy model or you pick the ecosystem everyone already builds in
for regulated assets I'd argue transactional privacy is the one you actually want anyway. compliance requires someone can identify you. what needs protecting is the amounts, the holdings, the positions,not your existence$BTC
most projects would have shipped the EVM one quietly and let people assume it was equivalent. saying it plainly is the unusual bit
