DUSK Just Gained 3.3% — But the Volume Spike May Be More Important

DUSK is up 3.3% to $0.0719 over the past 24 hours. On its own, that number doesn't tell us much — moves like this happen across the market constantly. What caught my attention wasn't the percentage, but the sudden volume spike alongside it, and the fact that it's coinciding with renewed chatter around the RWA (Real-World Assets) narrative.

Let's start with why RWA matters for DUSK specifically. DUSK has long positioned itself around privacy-preserving infrastructure designed with regulated finance in mind — things like compliant asset issuance and confidential settlement. As the broader RWA narrative gains traction across crypto, tokens with this kind of positioning tend to get renewed attention, simply because the theme aligns with what they were built for. That doesn't mean adoption has changed overnight — I haven't seen anything confirming new partnerships or institutional activity — but the narrative fit is real, and narratives often move price before fundamentals catch up.

On the volume spike: a sudden increase in volume can mean a few different things. It could reflect genuinely stronger market participation, or it could just as easily be short-term positioning from traders reacting to the narrative themselves. From my perspective, one volume spike isn't enough to distinguish between the two — that usually only becomes clear over several days or weeks.

I'd also add the obvious but important caveat: a single 24-hour move, even alongside higher volume, isn't confirmation of a trend. Momentum in crypto can reverse quickly.

What I'll actually be watching next: whether volume stays elevated rather than fading, ecosystem activity, any real-world use cases tied to DUSK's infrastructure, and — most importantly — whether the RWA narrative translates into measurable network usage rather than just attention.

Do you think the RWA narrative has staying power for tokens like DUSK, or is this more of a short-lived attention cycle?
