XAG is currently around 68.3u. This round has ground its way up from 63.9 to above 69, then slipped back—it's basically confirmed the earlier “wait-and-see” call. Those who didn’t chase really did avoid the stretch of sluggish downside earlier.
First, the conclusion: the structure has turned more bullish, but at this level I won’t just jump in and chase.
The most convincing part is what the big players are doing. In the whale account, the long-side share has climbed to 70%. In the past 7 hours, the long positions were increased by another 10%. The spot order book also has buy orders pressing over sell orders, with the spread kept very tight—this isn’t just someone shouting “bullish”; somebody is genuinely taking the bids.
Price has also reclaimed above two moving averages. On the 4-hour chart, across 6 candlesticks there are 5 bullish candles and 1 bearish, and over 24 hours it closed up by 1.7%. The issue is that the futures order book’s active sell orders are still there: active buying share is down to only 35%, clearly lower than 7 hours ago. Near 69, which is also the 24-hour high, the earlier push couldn’t hold above it.
In plain terms, the long-side structure is repairing, but the short-term relay buyers haven’t fully caught up. Chasing longs right up against the highs isn’t great on risk-reward. I’d rather wait for another pullback—moving averages are keeping around 67.9. After the pullback, once it holds its ground, it’ll be more comfortable to go long than chasing here.
Let’s also lay out the risk: the whale longs are already a bit crowded. If price keeps grinding below 69 and can’t break through, these positions may end up turning into sell pressure later.
