Today’s market isn’t anything special, but there were a few things worth noting. A message came from Capital One about Bank of America – nothing clear on whether it’s bullish or bearish, just their view on the stock. Republic Services’ outlook was also seen, and Wall Street seems mixed on it. The big topic—federal debt of $40 trillion. NPR listed 3 things about it. This number has become so large that interest payments are already taking up a big share of the budget. And yes, Treasury’s Bessent said that bond buybacks could increase—meaning there could be some movement on the supply side. The most attention-grabbing part—Walmart. The stock is down 9%. Sales growth has slowed, and customers are making “trade-offs” because of fuel prices. Basically, people aren’t spending as much as they used to. That’s not a good sign for consumer spending. Overall, the market looks a bit cautious. Debt, spending, and retail are all connected to each other. What do you think— is this dip in Walmart an opportunity, or is it a warning for the retail sector?
