On August 19, Donald Trump held a meeting at the White House with crypto industry leaders and called on Congress to pass a âfair versionâ of the CLARITY Act.
The bill is designed to establish clearer rules for digital asset regulation in the U.S. and define the roles of American regulators in overseeing the crypto market.
The meeting was attended by Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev, and Kraken co-CEO Arjun Sethi. SEC Chairman Paul Atkins and CFTC Chairman Mike Selig also participated.
The CLARITY Act was previously approved by the House of Representatives, but its progress in the Senate is currently stalled.
