According to Bloomberg, the New York Stock Exchange parent company, Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), is considering adding to its funding of Polymarket, the prediction market platform, in another round. ICE has previously invested more than $1.6 billion in Polymarket. CEO Jeff Sprecher has clearly stated that the company is open to participating if it helps facilitate transactions, and said that its investment endorsement could provide support for this funding round.

Of note, the valuation for Polymarket in this round is reportedly expected to exceed $20 billion, more than doubling from last October’s valuation. ICE’s continued bet not only reflects traditional financial giants’ recognition of the commercial prospects of the prediction-market sector, but also shows that Wall Street is accelerating its embrace of on-chain data infrastructure.

As regulation improves and institutions move in, prediction markets may be moving from a crypto-native niche experiment toward a mainstream financial-standard tool.
