Tencent has started limited testing of its new flagship Hunyuan Hy4 model, according to a disclosure by X user MaxForAI. According to ChainCatcher, users found Hy4 listed in the model selection menu of the Tencent Yuanbao app, labeled as an expert-level model and ranked above Hy3 and DeepSeek.

Tencent confirmed in last week’s Q2 earnings report that the larger-parameter Hy4 model will launch soon and is expected to improve model performance and multimodal capabilities. Tencent has not officially released Hy4, and it remains unclear whether the current appearance reflects a small-scale gray test or an early open entry, but the launch appears to be approaching.
