Is Trump moving the crypto market?
There’s something that can no longer be ignored: Donald Trump’s policies are having an increasingly growing impact on cryptocurrencies.
This month, we’ve seen how the market reacted again to his moves.
On August 19, Trump brought together at the White House some of the industry’s top leaders and urged Congress to move forward with the CLARITY Act, a law aimed at establishing clearer rules for determining which digital assets fall under the SEC, which fall under the CFTC, and how the crypto market will operate in the United States.
What’s the result?
Bitcoin rose by about 6% in a single day, breaking above $68,000 and moving closer again to $70,000. Crypto-related stocks also saw strong gains.
But here’s the interesting part:
Is Trump really boosting cryptocurrencies… or is the market simply reacting to the expectations his actions generate?
Because there are two sides to the coin.
🟢 For:
Clearer regulation could reduce uncertainty, attract more institutional capital, and make it easier for companies and banks to enter the market.
🔴 Against:
The CLARITY Act still faces obstacles in the Senate, and some critics question potential conflicts of interest arising from Trump’s and his family’s crypto businesses.
