Something I keep returning to with infrastructure updates is that they're often more consequential than the features built on top of them. Dusk's Rusk Universal Event System exposes chain events in a standardized way for indexers and external integrators, rather than leaving each project to reverse-engineer its own method of tracking state changes. That's a foundational choice, not a cosmetic one.
Why it matters is straightforward: ecosystems grow through integrations, and integrations grow through developers being able to trust that events are consistent, complete, and not quietly dropped under load. A privacy-preserving chain adds another layer of difficulty here, since indexers need enough signal to build useful tooling without that signal undermining the confidentiality the chain is supposed to provide. What I don't know yet is how RUES performs once multiple indexers are pulling from it simultaneously, or how well it holds up as event volume scales. I'd rather see a handful of reliable integrations than a long list of experimental ones. I am watching which indexers actually adopt it and how stable that adoption proves to be.
