I’ve been looking into Dusk Network recently and ended up reading about Kadcast. I’ll be honest. I didn’t know much about it before.

The basic idea is pretty simple. Kadcast helps the different nodes in the network share information with each other. Instead of every node trying to send everything everywhere it gives the network a more efficient way to spread data.

I think this is more important than it first sounds. When a new block or other information needs to reach the network too much unnecessary traffic can slow things down. Better communication can help keep things moving without putting extra pressure on the network.

What caught my attention is that users don’t really see any of this. We send a transaction and wait for it to go through. Behind that there are many nodes constantly sharing information.

For Dusk this makes sense because speed and privacy are important parts of the network. Kadcast is one of those things working in the background that helps support the bigger picture.

I’m still learning the technical side but I found this part of Dusk pretty interesting.
