The gold is worth around $4 billion. The UK froze it in 2018 after refusing to recognise Maduro as president, and it has sat there ever since.
On August 12, Venezuela's acting government under Delcy Rodrรญguez and the opposition signed an agreement to work together on getting it released for earthquake relief.
Opposition delegate Ramรณn Lรณpez says the funds would be deposited into a US Treasury account and audited by international firms.
Venezuela's own central bank would not control its own reserves.
