What is a rebate? Where do rebates come from?
Recently I’ve found that many brothers don’t even know the basics of how rebates work, so let me explain.
First of all, every time you trade, you need to pay a trading fee. For most futures contracts, the fee is typically 0.06% (6/10,000). For spot, it’s usually 0.1% (1/1,000).
The 0.06% for futures is 0.06% of your total position. If you open a 100x contract, that means it’s 6% of your principal. For example, if you use 100 USDT (U) to open a 100x contract: the buy fee is 6U, and the sell fee is 6U. In and out, that’s 12U. Even if you open the contract and break even when you close, you still have to pay 12U in fees.
A rebate is obtained by entering your exclusive invitation code. With this, every time you trade, your fee becomes 9.6U each time, saving 2.4U.
Don’t think 2.4U is small. For a normal player, with 1,000U to trade for three months, your total fees can end up being more than your principal.
Our ultimate goal in trading is to improve our return rate and increase our trading win rate. Adding a rebate is one of the most basic operations. For many people, most of their money is taken away by trading fees—sometimes what you lose or what you gain isn’t even more than the fees.
