DeFi has a problem that people talk about less often: we’re used to chasing high APYs, but we almost never know what that APY will be tomorrow.
That’s why I’m interested in the model @TermMax .
Instead of another race for a floating yield, TermMax builds the market around a fixed rate + a specific maturity date. For me, this is an important difference: users can evaluate a position not just by today’s APY figure, but by a more predictable outcome over a defined horizon.
But what’s most interesting is that TermMax goes well beyond simple lending.
→ Fixed-rate lending/borrowing — the rate and term are known in advance.
→ Alpha Long/Short — leverage mechanics without traditional liquidation and margin calls; risk is set via an upfront premium.
→ Vaults — another layer of working with yield and capital.
And here is my main point:
the next stage of DeFi may not be about “who can show the highest APY?”, but about “who will allow better control of time, rate, and risk?”
If this trend truly takes hold, fixed-rate markets could become a more important part of DeFi infrastructure, and @TermMax is effectively building several instruments around this idea at once.
What’s more important to you: the maximum potential APY or the ability to lock in the terms ahead of time?
