To be honest, I didn’t expect this at all—right after the weekend ended, the market actually wrote me a “slow-boiled frog” kind of script. BTC is hovering around 64,200, and ETH is also just shuffling above 1,900. The Fear and Greed Index is 50—neither high nor low, stuck right in the middle, making you uncomfortable. In this kind of market, you could say it’s dead quiet, but altcoins are ridiculously lively. And you could say the bull market is back, but BTC can’t even get above 65,000. Anyway, my current state is: holding spot, watching the chart, drinking coffee, waiting for a direction.

Let’s talk about BTC first. BTC is now 64,216; it’s up only 0.4% in the past 24 hours, and 0.8% over 7 days. Honestly, with volatility like this, back in the day I wouldn’t even have had the nerve to post. But look at the funding rate—BTC is only 0.0029%, and ETH is even negative at -0.0004%. What does that mean? It means leveraged positions aren’t really betting on a direction; everyone is just waiting. Personally, I think this low funding + sideways action combo often comes before the next move—but as for the direction... don’t ask me. I’m not a fortune-teller.

However, ETH is kind of interesting. It’s at 1,909 and up 1% in the last 24 hours, stronger than BTC. The funding rate is negative, which suggests the futures market is leaning bearish, yet the price is going up—this kind of “the shorts get slapped” plot I’ve seen plenty of times. If ETH can hold above 1,900 and break 1,930 with volume, I might consider adding a bit of position; my stop-loss would be at 1,860, and my initial target would be 1,980. This is just my trading idea—do your own weighing.

Next, let’s talk about today’s biggest gainers. Honestly, at first I thought the data for these three must be wrong. BTW, +57.78% straight away—at a price of 0.56 U, it traded 360 million U in volume over 24 hours. The hype is even hotter than BTC. ACE is also going crazy: +55.33%, at 0.237 U, with 700 million U in volume. But this guy’s funding rate is -0.2736%, meaning shorts are overheated. VELVET is a bit more normal: +36.51%, and a funding rate of 0.0177%, which is still relatively healthy.

BTW, this coin—people say it’s the governance token of the Bitway ecosystem—was number one on the trending list, with huge trading activity. But the funding rate is 0.1020%, and longs are a bit overheated. Honestly, I wouldn’t chase something like this. If you’re itching to trade, just play with a small position, set your stop-loss properly, and don’t ask me how I know—I lost money on coins like this before. As for ACE: it’s a game concept coin, an “AAA blockbuster,” sounds big and impressive, but with that funding rate being so negative, it suggests the futures market has a lot of people looking bearish. And yet the price is up 55%—this round of shorts is probably feeling pretty uncomfortable. Still, I don’t recommend chasing; with volatility like this, your heart can’t take it.

VELVET is the only strong coin I’d say is “normal-ish” today: +36.51%, funding rate is normal, and volume is fine too. If it can pull back to around 0.60 and not break it, I think you could try a small long position. Stop-loss at 0.57, target 0.75. Of course, this is just my personal thinking. Altcoins have big risks—don’t go all-in and gamble everything.

Now look at the biggest losers: GPS -27.48%, JCT -25.90%, BEAT -22.89%. These were bouncing around on the trending lists a few days ago, and today they’re cold. Honestly, for coins that pump and dump like that, I usually just blacklist them right away. If you chased them earlier, you’re probably questioning life by now. But it’s okay—this is how the market works. Today you laugh at others, tomorrow others laugh at you. We’ve all been the person “standing guard at the top.”

Finally, let’s talk about SOL and PUMP. In the trending section there’s Solana and Pump.fun, which suggests on-chain hype is still there. SOL isn’t on the gainers list, but as the ecosystem leader, as long as the chain is active, it won’t be too bad. My own idea is: if SOL pulls back to around 140, you could buy a little in batches, with a target of 155. Pump.fun is a meme coin launcher—hype is still there, but I won’t touch it. It’s too stimulating; I’m afraid my heart can’t handle it.

To sum it up: right now the market is “BTC is steady, alts are flying—but what’s flying is basically a lottery ticket.” BTC and ETH are suitable for holding patiently and waiting for direction. As for altcoins, either don’t touch them, or if you do, use money you can afford to lose—don’t gamble with everything. Don’t ask me which one can 10x—I’d have retired early if I knew.

Lastly, do you think coins like BTW can still be chased? Or is this just a “one-day tour” kind of行情? Chat in the comments—I want to see your courage.
