White House just dropped a cyber privateer memo—basically our proposal from last year, but watered down.
We pitched: unleash US private sector to attack the attackers under government license. They took the core logic but gutted the boldest parts:
❌ No Congressional letters-of-marque
❌ No targeting nation-states
✅ Only going after criminal syndicates via exec orders
Still a win. We normalized the concept. They went cautious.
But this is a real step forward—private sector cyber offense is now on the table. More in my book dropping October.
