Hello dear friends!
At bStocks there is a technical detail that’s easy to miss: Binance integrates them with the BEP-677 Scaled UI Amount standard. It is designed to work with RWA balances and allows bStocks to be used in DeFi protocols on BNB Smart Chain. In other words, it’s no longer just about trading a token on Binance.
There is another feature as well. During certain corporate events, operations with a specific bStock may be temporarily restricted. Binance separately lists such events, including dividends, stock split, merger, acquisition, and spinoff.
At the same time, the restrictions can differ. For example, when processing a dividend, conversion may be temporarily paused, while for earnings the asset receives a trading restriction rather than necessarily a complete stop.
So with a single bStock you may face a situation where trading is available, but conversion or other operations are temporarily limited. The status depends on which event is currently being processed.
I think it is exactly these kinds of details that best explain how bStocks differ from a regular token: here you have to consider not only the blockchain, but also the events affecting the underlying financial asset.
