🔥 Trump Posts Map Declaring the Strait of Hormuz “New U.S. Territory”

President Donald Trump has once again escalated his rhetoric over the Strait of Hormuz, posting an image on Truth Social that labels the strategic waterway as “NEW U.S. TERRITORY.”

Trump also said:
There are no negotiations or talks with Iran currently taking place or scheduled.

The U.S. naval blockade remains fully in force.

He claims the Strait of Hormuz is open and operating normally.
Trump also said that all sea mines have either been removed or detonated.

The timing is particularly notable.

The 60-day negotiating period has now expired without a broader U.S.-Iran agreement, with both sides blaming each other for the breakdown. Iran has said it will keep the Strait closed until Washington meets its conditions, while the U.S. has ruled out extending the current arrangement.

Trump had already claimed last week that the United States had “total control” of Hormuz. The latest post takes that rhetoric a step further by depicting the waterway as U.S. territory.

For markets, the message is clear:

Diplomatic hopes are fading, while the geopolitical stakes around the world's most important oil chokepoint are rising again.

And with Brent crude already above $90 per barrel, any further escalation could quickly feed into oil prices, inflation expectations and global risk assets.
