Many public chains emphasize low fees, high performance, or EVM compatibility, but the challenges for putting financial assets on-chain go far beyond deploying contracts. Institutions need transaction data that cannot be casually inspected, while still meeting audit, regulatory, and final-settlement requirements—this places much more complex demands on the underlying network.$SNDKB
Dusk's design approach is to split different capabilities and handle them separately. DuskDS handles consensus, data availability, and final settlement. The native DuskVM targets Rust, WASM, and zero-knowledge-related capabilities. DuskEVM allows Solidity developers to keep using familiar tools. Such an architecture can indeed lower the migration barrier and give developers more room to choose. For teams that already have Ethereum development experience, entering via EVM first and then gradually getting exposed to Dusk's native privacy features may be more realistic than learning a completely unfamiliar environment from scratch.
However, EVM compatibility does not automatically mean privacy is already taken care of. How the application calls Hedger, how cross-layer assets are settled, and who bears the cost of generating privacy proofs—all of these will affect the final user experience. Especially for regulated assets, the gap between selective disclosure and full concealment requires more fine-grained permission design.$SPCXB
So I believe the key for Dusk's next phase is not to keep stacking technical buzzwords, but to prove that this layered architecture can be called reliably by real applications. Only when development barriers, privacy outcomes, cross-layer experience, and compliance workflows all hold up at the same time will the network's value have a more solid foundation.
