Low volatility isn’t a signal—it’s just that nobody’s moving
Yesterday BTC opened at 62,830 and ETH at 1,874. Over the course of a week, BTC fell by more than three points, while ETH fell by about one point eight.
Some analysts say the recent low volatility is a sign of a coming breakout, while others believe the market needs to fall a bit more before it bottoms out. With the same set of data, you can reach two opposite conclusions.
What’s worth noting is that they’re using the same argument: low volatility.
Low volatility only means one thing: trading is thin, and neither the bulls nor the bears are willing to make a bet. It carries no direction by itself—the direction is added by whoever interprets it.
In a bear market, the most expensive skill isn’t calling the bottom—it’s admitting you can’t call it.
