@Dusk_Foundation $DUSK #dusk
Before going deeper, I had assumed that if Dusk is targeting financial institutions and RWA, then the greater the adoption, the more it would help $DUSK become stable.
But at that time, I hadn’t truly cross-checked DUSK’s price movements against the value proposition the project is pursuing.
So I went back to look at DUSK through the lens of the “regulated, compliance-first, deterministic settlement” that Dusk is building.
And what I saw wasn’t as simple as I thought.
Part of the initial assumption is still true: Dusk really is moving toward institutional adoption. But DUSK hasn’t yet shown the image of a stable asset; it looks more like a small-cap altcoin that leans toward speculation.
For me, the issue isn’t that crypto is volatile, but the gap between that volatility and the value proposition Dusk is aiming at for institutions. Just in January 2026, $DUSK rose 583% over 30 days. Swings of 5–10% in 24 hours and 10–25% each week aren’t uncommon either.
If DUSK remains highly volatile as adoption expands, this could become a downside for settlement infrastructure. An institution evaluating the compliance risk of tokenized securities would hardly be comfortable if the settlement layer is more volatile than the underlying asset.
Looking back, I started from the story Dusk wants to tell about itself, rather than looking first at DUSK’s market data. I don’t think this contradicts Dusk’s direction, but the gap between the narrative and how DUSK actually moves is still worth considering.
From then on, I also began to view Dusk’s institutional adoption differently. I still expect that as adoption expands, DUSK’s volatility will gradually cool off and become more stable.
