Moving stocks into Binance through DTC is not the same as depositing a token.
The current transfer-in guide describes a broker-to-broker securities process. The delivering broker sends supported stocks to Binance’s brokerage partner using DTC settlement instructions.
The first practical boundary is quantity: DTC transfer requests accept whole shares only.
If an external account contains 3.4 AAPL, a request cannot specify 3.4 shares. A fractional quantity may cause the request to be rejected, and that fraction does not automatically become $AAPLB .
There are several other checkpoints:
The legal name on both brokerage accounts must match.
The stock symbols and quantities must match the settlement instructions.
Only supported stocks can be transferred.
Each request may contain up to 50 different stocks.
Requests are processed in daily batches from Monday to Friday at 07:00 UTC, and Binance advises allowing at least 14 business days for completion.
Most importantly, the asset that arrives is still a stock position in Binance Stock Trading. Converting an eligible AAPL position into $AAPLB is a separate Token Conversion action. Buying $AAPLB directly on Spot is a third route.
So “move my Apple exposure to Binance” may describe three very different operations:
1. Broker-to-broker DTC stock transfer
2. Stock-to-bStock conversion
3. Direct bStock purchase on Spot
The company exposure may look similar, but the asset, account and settlement rail are not interchangeable.
