In the past 1 hour, TradFi liquidations totaled $134,000, with 56 trades; shorts accounted for 53.6% ($71.7k vs. $62.1k longs). But if you stretch it to 4 hours, the direction looks completely different: in $2.087 million, longs account for 83.5%. On a 12-hour basis, in $22.84 million, longs account for 79.8%. Over the past half-day to 12 hours, the longs have been absorbing pressure, and only in the most recent hour did it just start to flip.

Breaking it down further into stock-related categories makes it even clearer: over 1 hour, 58.8% are shorts (70.17k short / 50.3k long, 46 trades). Over 4 hours, it immediately turns into 84.4% longs, and over 12 hours, 82.9% are longs. It roughly tracks the market’s走势, and the sample size is sufficient (470 trades and 3410 trades). This reversal looks real.

“Products and index categories cannot be viewed this way. In a 1-hour window, there are only 9 liquidations for products (7482 USD—all long positions), and only 1 liquidation for indices (4241 USD—long positions). With such a small sample size, you can always make any direction look plausible, so it is not a meaningful reference. Only when you move to 4 hours (117 and 83) and 12 hours (425 and 193) does it become significant: for products, 4-hour longs account for 69.3%, but at 12 hours it flips to shorts dominating at 63.3%. For indices, both 4-hour and 12-hour results are close to almost all longs (100% and 99.6%).”

In the past 24 hours, the total is $63.33 million; shorts account for 55.7%. This matches the direction seen in the most recent 1 hour, but is opposite to the long-dominance trend in the 4-hour/12-hour windows. This indicates that long liquidations were concentrated in the first half of the 24 hours, and only the second half switched to shorts.

At the same time, in the crypto market, there are $1.91 million in liquidations over 1 hour; shorts account for 55.9%. The scale is 14 times that of TradFi, and the direction is consistent with TradFi stocks.
