Stalled negotiations between Iran and the U.S. are driving a sharp rise in oil prices. WTI crude jumped more than 2% overnight to above $85 per barrel, while Brent surged more than 2.6%, nearing $90 per barrel. At the same time, the U.S. dollar index saw a significant pullback on August 17. The Federal Reserve will release the minutes of the July FOMC meeting this week, and the release time (early August 20 Beijing time) is worth watching. Rising geopolitical risks combined with a weaker U.S. dollar may provide support for gold and some commodities. Spot gold in London is currently around $4,397 per ounce. #原油 #外汇 #Gold
