TermMax: what is it and where did it come from?
Originally, the team was called Term Structure. In traditional finance, “term structure” is exactly the relationship between an interest rate and the time to maturity (the thing the yield curve is built from). The guys wanted to bring into DeFi a proper fixed-income market with clear timeframes and predictable rates. That’s why they named themselves that.
Then the product changed a lot. The first version was fairly complex and hard to use. The team rebuilt everything to be simpler and more convenient. And that new product was called TermMax.
“Term” is about fixed terms (terms) that are at the very core of the protocol.
“Max” is what they want to get the most out of this idea: maximum convenience, maximum predictability, maximum capital efficiency.
And the project itself is a protocol for fixed rates and fixed terms in DeFi. You can lend or borrow at a заранее known percentage for a заранее known term, without surprises like jumping interest rates. Plus there’s one-click leverage without liquidations. In essence, they’re trying to do in DeFi what has long existed in traditional finance: a calm, predictable money market.
