PANews August 18 news, according to a report by China Business Network (n. 12), sources said that Sequoia China has held preliminary talks with investors regarding several funds, including its first U.S. dollar fund since its “spin-off.” Sources said the investment firm is discussing raising at least $1.2 billion for an early-stage investment fund to support companies in the AI, healthcare and consumer sectors. They also said Sequoia China is considering setting up a growth fund, but the timing and size have not yet been determined. One person added that the company is also considering a RMB-denominated fund. Sources said the new fund will continue to focus on the Chinese market, but the firm is also open to opportunities in overseas markets.
