#以太坊基金会启动glamsterdam测试网

Seeing “Glamsterdam testnet has launched,” it’s easy to understand it as:
The next Ethereum upgrade is coming soon.

But the message that the dev and test networks are really conveying isn’t “the mainnet is going live right away,” but an earlier stage:

Changes that will affect how the entire network operates are now moving into verification in multi-client, real collaboration environments.

This time, the focus of Glamsterdam isn’t just simply improving speed.

The core problem it needs to solve is:
As Ethereum carries more transactions, more data, and more complex block-building processes, how can the network keep scaling without pushing the operating barrier too high.

One key direction is to incorporate the division of responsibilities for block building and validation more deeply into the protocol;
Another direction is to prepare for higher throughput and more efficient data processing.

Just because a testnet is up and running doesn’t mean the upgrade is already complete.

What is truly worth watching next are three things:

First, whether multiple clients can coordinate and work together reliably in a test environment;
Second, whether complex changes will reveal new compatibility and security issues;
Third, after establishing the development and test networks, when to move into broader testing and the final mainnet rollout schedule.

Technological progress addresses the question of whether “this whole solution can run reliably.”
Whether the market will reprice also depends on whether the upgrade rolls out successfully, whether the ecosystem adopts it, and whether real usage keeps up.

For ordinary ETH holders, there’s currently no need to take any “exchange” or “upgrade asset” actions because of the upgrade; any claims that require transferring ETH to support the upgrade should be treated with caution.

Rather than rushing to label an upgrade as bullish or bearish, what’s more worth tracking is whether verification progress is truly moving forward.
