To be honest, the finale trading in sync with the reverse trend—and coins like $CYS that have fallen about 70%—are what ended up catching my attention. The chart structure in the bottom area has been continuously printing several candlesticks with lower wicks. Although the volume hasn’t expanded, the selling pressure is clearly exhausting. At this position, talking about a full reversal is still too early; however, the demand for a short-term rebound is real. I’m used to looking at the risk-reward ratio. From the top, this has dropped so much, yet the price is still ranging at the low level without making new lows—this is a signal. After the shorts have pushed this for so long, the chips they hold are also nearly used up. On the 4-hour timeframe, the moving averages are starting to flatten and stick together; once capital is willing to enter, the upside repair space will be more tempting than the downside room for yet another push lower.
I don’t bet on a reversal—I only trade for a rebound. With these oversold candidates, once they rebound, they often won’t follow the usual logic. Of course, the biggest fear when going long against the trend is a relentless, drifting selloff. So I only watch two things: first, whether the price can hold the lower boundary of the recent consolidation; and second, whether volume supports the rebound. If it continues to contract and drift lower on decreasing volume, that means the bulls aren’t ready yet, and I’ll immediately abandon this idea. But based on the current structure, the downside support is stronger than I expected. From here, I think betting on a rebound feels far more comfortable than chasing those “strong” coins.
