$ASMLB — a company without which, physically, there would not be a single modern chip. ASML is the only manufacturer of EUV lithography machines in the world (100% market share); without its equipment, it would be impossible to produce either Nvidia GPUs or Apple chips—basically, anything modern.
At the same time, it’s currently going through an interesting story with China: the share of Chinese revenue collapsed from 33% in 2025 to 19–20% in 2026 due to U.S. export restrictions—export bans now even cover older DUV machines, not just the top-tier EUV systems. You’d logically expect problems—yet ASML has increased its annual revenue forecast instead. The loss of China will be more than offset by a far more profitable demand for EUV from Taiwan, Korea, and the U.S., where all the infrastructure for AI is currently being built.
For me, $ASMLB is a rare example of a true monopoly in a portfolio: sanctions hit the geography of sales, but not the business itself, because there is simply no physical alternative.
