CLARITY ACT POSTPONED: The most important crypto law in the US was moved to September

If you have Bitcoin, ETH, SOL or XRP, you NEED to understand what happened this week in Washington.#Binance

What is the CLARITY Act?

It’s the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act. The law that will finally answer: who controls crypto in the US? SEC or CFTC?

It creates 3 drawers: #GoogleDocsMagic

1 - Digital Commodities (CFTC): BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP and other decentralized networks. It becomes an official commodity, like gold.#FactCheck

2 - Investment Contract Assets (SEC): New tokens that are still centralized and raised money as an investment.#CRİPTO

3 - Stablecoins: This part was already moved to another bill, the GENIUS Act, which has already been approved.

In practice, the law codifies that XRP, Bitcoin, and Ethereum are NOT securities. End of the 4-year debate.

Why was it delayed? #Kabosu

It was supposed to be voted on before the Senate’s summer recess. The U.S. Senate goes into recess from August 10 to September 11, and they simply shelved the vote.

Three reasons locked everything up:

1. Stablecoin yield: banks want to ban it, crypto companies want to allow it. 2. Anti-Trump clause: Democrats want to prevent the president and members of Congress from profiting from crypto. 3. Coinbase withdrew its support from the final text. $XRP

The Senate Majority Leader, John Thune, said that missing this window would be a huge blow. Now only in September, and with the 2026 midterm elections coming up, some analysts are talking about a delay until 2027.

And what does that mean for XRP?

For XRP, it’s huge. CLARITY removes the last legal handbrake.

Without the law, exchanges are afraid to list, banks are afraid to offer, and the ETF stays in limbo. With the law, it becomes a market regulated by the CFTC, like the futures market for commodities.

It’s not that XRP will ā€œunderpinā€ more. It will simply be able to finally compete without a SEC action hanging over its head.

Delay in the short term = frustration and volatility.

Approval in the medium term = institutional deblocking for BTC, ETH, SOL, and XRP.

The crypto market will do well even without the law right now, but WITH the law, the party is different.

Do you think they approve it still in 2026?
