I’ve been looking into Ethereum’s native UTXO idea, and one detail stood out to me.
The proposal seems to prefer EIP-8141, or Frame Transactions, for spending. But EIP-8141 is still only “Considered for Inclusion” in the Hegotá specification, while FOCIL (EIP-7805) is the only proposal formally scheduled so far.
That makes the Utreexo reference more interesting to me.
I don’t see it as a promise of native UTXOs arriving in Hegotá. It feels more like a research direction toward a hybrid state model, where different activities could use different state structures ,while cryptographic proofs reduce what nodes need to store or repeatedly verify.
It's still early, but I think this direction is worth watching.
Could Ethereum eventually move toward multiple state models instead of one universal approach?
