Odaily Planet Daily News: Cryptocurrency exchange Binance plans to apply for a license with the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Some services, partly aimed at UK residents, are expected to restart in 2027. The relevant application will be tied to the effective date of new UK digital asset regulations. In June 2021, the FCA said that Binance’s UK subsidiary, Binance Markets Limited, must not carry out regulated activities in the UK. In 2023, Binance announced that, in response to the UK financial promotion regulatory requirements, it would stop new user registrations. A Binance spokesperson said it would not comment on speculation related to any potential license application. According to the crypto regulatory framework published by the FCA in June, relevant entities may submit applications from this year’s September until February 28, 2027, and the regulatory system will officially take effect on October 25, 2027.
