#termmax @TermMax 17 thousand people per day — and I hadn’t even heard of this protocol. 😳
I came to see what’s going on in DeFi in general and stumbled upon TermMax. In March, the protocol reported 17k active users per day, nearly $50M TVL, and over 100 markets.
Me: “Okay, so what is this?” 😂
Turns out TermMax solves a pretty interesting DeFi problem—floating rates.
Imagine I borrowed $10,000 USDC. Today it’s 5%, tomorrow 8%, and in a month it’s 12%. So I don’t know in advance how much my loan will actually cost.
With TermMax, the rate is fixed for a specific term.
For example, you agree on 8% for a year—and until the repayment date it doesn’t change. The logic is the same for the lender: they immediately know their yield.
Basically, it’s an attempt to bring to DeFi what has long existed in traditional finance: loans with a fixed rate and term.
And here’s another interesting thing—leverage. The protocol lets you open leveraged positions basically in one click, without dozens of manual steps with borrowing and collateral.
But fixed rate doesn’t mean fixed risk. 😅
If the collateral price drops below LTV, the position can be liquidated.
And what’s interesting: in a few months, TermMax has grown a lot. The team now claims 90K+ active users per day.
