Just took a look at the data—there’s something going on.
What does $BTC ’s funding rate of 0.87% mean? In my positions, a few contract lots are being charged almost a 1% rate. Longs are really crowded right now—today’s high-low range is only about $800, and volume is just 0.41B. This is clearly low-volume consolidation.
I’ve placed a short entry around 63,500, with a stop loss at 64,000, and a take profit at 62,000.
The reason is simple: with the funding rate this high, shorts don’t dare move yet because everyone is waiting for a big bearish candle to flush out leverage. If price breaks below 62,700, this long-side stop-loss trigger will get hit immediately—then the real vacuum zone below is 61,000–62,000.
At this level, it’s not suitable to chase longs—the funding will grind you to death. Either wait for a breakout above 64,000 and follow the trend, or set up a short by placing orders below the stop-loss level. Can the air force hold up?
